18 Self-efficacy for self-regulation
The Self-Efficacy for Self-Regulated Learning Scale (Usher and Pajares 2008) is a concise instrument designed to assess students’ confidence in their ability to employ self-regulated learning strategies. It consists of 7 items on a 6-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 (not well at all) to 6 (very well), allowing students to rate their confidence in performing each behavior.
High self-efficacy for self-regulated learning is associated with better academic performance, as students are more likely to engage in effective study habits, persist through challenges, and adapt their learning strategies as needed.
